Hospital Paging Systems

Are essentially Local Area Paging Networks with some additional interfacing to enable interoperation with the various systems installed in the Hospital environment.   Sedgewall aim to provide special interfacing and voice paging requirements of the Hospital Paging market in the UK.

nurse with pager       Bosch was the first company to introduce digital paging and has maintained its position as a world leader since.  The DP6000 system forms the backbone of the paging product range.  It has been designed with simplicity, ease of operation and reliability as priorities.  The same core products are used in large and small-scale applications and existing systems can easily be upgraded and expanded to match expanding requirements.

The basic paging system consists of a central control desk, transmitter and aerial, receivers and storage racks.  Systems can work in UHF and VHF frequency bands.  Control desks range from basic models to advanced units with facilities for talk back, talk through, and priority and emergency interrupt. 

Where necessary, Hospital Paging Systems can be linked to provide coverage between a number of sites (perhaps within an individual trust for example), with accommodation of up to10, 000 receivers/ transceivers.    

DP6000 systems are not limited to people contact.  Vital equipment or healthcare systems can be monitored, and breakdowns or out-of-tolerance readings can be relayed automatically to the central control desk from remote sensors.  Alarm calls can then be routed directly to the appropriate personnel, who can then take immediate action, e.g. Cardiac Arrest, Nursecall, Security including Baby security, and Building Management (Fire Alarms or Intruder detection).

The PS6000 system comprises an additional range of mobiles to accommodate personal security functions.  These can be used in existing systems as well as new systems, providing means of personal protection and communication for personal working in ‘at risk’ areas.
